The demon of mathematics does not always speak. When the revelations go quiet, something else takes over. I see things — landscapes, moments, forms — and I need to put them somewhere. They are put on craft paper, then here.
Diffusions
Where watercolour and stochastic process share the same law — pigment spreads across wet paper the way probability mass spreads across state space. Works exploring colour as a diffusing measure, never quite settling, always tending toward equilibrium it never reaches.
Almost Surely
In probability, an event that holds with probability one — yet need not hold everywhere. These pieces occupy that remainder: the set of measure zero where something else happens. Quiet works. Things that are true except on a set you cannot see.
Harmonic
Harmonic functions are the solutions to Laplace's equation — no peaks, no valleys, only the smooth average of surroundings. Works built on that principle: balance without flatness, resolution without force.
Martingale
A fair game. No trend, no drift — only the conditional expectation of tomorrow equal to today. Compositions where nothing is gained or lost, only transformed, and the next state is already contained in the present one.
Viscous
From viscosity solutions of fully nonlinear PDEs — a notion of solution that survives where classical derivatives break down. Also the literal viscosity of paint on paper. Works at that boundary: where smoothness fails and something rougher, truer, takes its place.
Passage
First passage times — the moment a stochastic process crosses a threshold for the first time. An irreversible event. Works about crossing: boundaries met, thresholds breached, the before and after of an encounter that cannot be undone.
